You will have a different and unique experience in each class that you attend at OMY as each teacher has their own unique approach to Yoga.
Do I need to book my place?
No, you do not need to book for all our regular Yoga or Pilates classes, please just show up 10 minutes before the class to sign-in. Always keep an eye on our website and on Facebook as we will announce class changes there.
For workshops, you will need to book your place however we often have plenty of space so you can feel free to show up too. Prebooking and payment guarantees your place.
What do I need to bring?
- Wear comfortable sports clothes
- Please come hydrated to class
- Bring a yoga mat (we recommend you have your own for hygiene reasons although you can borrow a studio mat if you dont have one)
- Yoga is practiced barefoot
Do you have toilets & changing areas?
- Yes we have changing area and toilets at both studios.
Is Yoga for Me?
Yes, Yoga is for everybody however if you do have an injury or you are pregnant please see below.
Injuries?
The safety and wellbeing of our students is of paramount importance to us.
A regular group Yoga class may not be suitable for those who have injuries.
For any of the following please contact us before joining a class.
- Any serious back conditions such as bulging discs
- Knee injuries
- If you are attending physiotherapy for any reason
- Any serious eye conditions
- Surgery within previous 6 months
- Heart conditions
Which Class?
All those new to Yoga need to attend at least 12 Level 1 classes before moving up a level.
Types of Yoga classes:
- Anusara Inspired Yoga
- Relax & Retorative Yoga
- Hatha Yoga
- Ashtanga Yoga
How often do I need to come?
To learn Yoga, students should attend a class at least once a week with a qualifed and experienced teacher. Learning Yoga requires commitment, concentration and repetition. Those who practice regularly will reap the most benefits from Yoga.
Pregnant?
Yoga should avoid practicing yoga in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy. After 14 weeks, a prenatal Yoga class is recommended. One can attend prenatal Yoga classes right up to the birth. Regular Yoga classes are not suitable for pregnant students.
